Health Concerns with Low Carb Diets
Despite the propagation of low carb diets in recent years, studies show that a radical reduction of carbohydrate intake is not always good for the body. In fact, some low carb bodybuilding diets can actually increase your risk of illnesses such as heart disease and some types of cancers. This is not to say that all low carb diets for bodybuilding are unhealthy – in fact, some are really very good. However, you do have to make sure that the diet you are going on does not strip away more carbs from your daily diet than is necessary. What it should do instead is to provide you with healthier food choices that will only replace the bad carbs with good ones.
