My mom only uses her debit card when it is absolutely necessary, such as making a purchase on the web. However, she generally likes to still write out a check for all of the purchases that she makes, when in person. She does order personal checks from a web site, though, because she likes the bigger selection of choices that her favorite net site has, for ordering checks that can make a personal statement about her. I also like to write paper checks as much as possible, so that I have more than just an electronic record of where all of the money in my account goes to.
