I Used to be Afraid of Wood
I have always been afraid of putting wood in my home. When I was a little girl, I lived in a house with wood floors. I remember my mother trying to mop them with water. The finish wore off, they warped, and they started to look horrible. Looking back, I realize that they probably weren’t real wood. Nevertheless, it left me thinking that wood was difficult to care for. So when I received wood venetian blinds as a gift a few years ago, I was terrified of ruining them. After doing a little bit of research, however, I learned that all I needed to do was wipe them with a damp cloth or vacuum them with a hose attachment. I have done that, and they still look as good as they did when I got them.
