Do you you hate it when it’s pretty much the weekend and you have utterly zero plans whatsoever? Used to be that you kind of had an idea of what your airfare was going to cost. The airline newspaper ads told you (albeit in the very fine print at the bottom) what the fare was, that the fare was higher on certain days, and that the least expensive seats might not be available on all flights. But the latest of the cheap airline tricks is to charge a “surcharge” on the peak travel days around the holidays. It’s usually 10 bucks. This way they can advertise the fare as being ‘generally available’, but then slam you with the “peak surcharge” when your travel falls on those peak days right around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.

Well known spots like Cuzco and Macchu Picchu are considered the Incan cities of old, while the mountain city of Ayacucho is most recently associated with memories of the Sendero Luminoso activities of years ago. Arequipa is located in the south of Peru and is better known as the ‘white city’; it offers an excellent view of volcanoes as you look out from the city. It is a nice small city with fine dining and a good nightlife with plenty of criollo music available to listen to.

I didn’t get to go anywhere this summer. Work really held me up at gunpoint. I felt so sorry for myself as I drove my roommates to the airport for their European backpacking adventure. I finally got some time off work and I’m not wasting it on lying around at home. It’s never too late to have fun. I’m thinking of using my vacation time for something I’ve never done before: kosher safari. I’m still thinking where to go, though. I’m reading up on adventure tours in South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and so on. They all seem amazing! Now I’m torn.

Electronic gadgets have invaded our lives and taken over. Today, virtually every adult in America has a cell phone. A cell phone can be quite useful as a phone. But not the phones have morphed into multi-functional gadgets that play games and send text messages and find out if your table is level (iPhone apps). So people seem to spend more and more time staring at and tinkering with gadgets. My personal problem is travel gadgets. Since my job takes me all over the country virtually every week I am constantly on the hunt for making myself more organized and getting smaller gadgets that do more.

Waihi Beach is located in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. It is a cute little town that welcomes visitors at any time of the year. We decided to spend our summer vacation there this year. Since we were going for so long we decided to look into renting a small house or “bach” as they are called in New Zealand. What better company to trust than Bachcare. They were able to find us the perfect Waihi Beach holiday home with everything we needed. Our house will have a full kitchen as well as all the bedding and linens we will need. We were able to make our reservation online, so all we have to do is get there!

I am looking for some advice on how to choose a helicopter. We would like to get one for our business and we are not sure which would be the best type for our purposes. We have heard good things about the Enstrom helicopters, so we are leaning toward getting one of these, but even then we are not sure which one to get. I suppose we will have to set a budget and use that to help us narrow down the options a bit. I also have to research the safety records for the various helicopters to see which are the safest.
