My Fathers Bank Account
My father who is a US resident wants to open a bank account in Canada. For customer identification, the Canadian bank demanded a notarized copy of passport with apostille. Since USA is also a member of the Hague protocol, the Canadian authorities will only accept apostilled documents, for proof of identity and no other form of authentication is acceptable. So, my father sent an Apostille Document to the Canadian bank. He was very happy that he now has a Canadian bank account. He has been saving money for retirement, he feels much safer with his money in Canada then the US with the expected inflation that will happen with the US currency.
